Looking for vaudeville’s Lo Lo –1909 to 1914

Anyone out there a vaudeville buff? Know your Orpheum Theatre history inside and out? Have a scrapbook collection of vaudeville news that’s been in the family since 1910? Yes–I am searching for information regarding this vaudeville  act featuring “LoLo”–also L0 Lo and occassionally newspaper publicity images designated Lola.  Lolo was billed as a  mystic, a mind reader, a magician, a sharpshooter, a full blooded Sioux girl from the Pine Ridge Reservation–and her act received better reviews than the top billed Mrs. Langtry in 1913. Lolo headlined in Washington, Boston, Providence, Salt Lake City, Atlanta, Portland, Seattle, Syracuse, New York and many vaudeville stages in between.  Oh yes, you can find Lolo in online newspaper archives across the country.  And managers’ positive reviews for her act with Major Cotton, manager, are in evidence in the Keith Albee collection in the University of Iowa’s Special Collections.  Now can anyone out there tell me something NEW and exciting about this woman with “the sparkling personality and winning smile” who ran the vaudeville circuit form coast to coast?

Nope sorry. Don’t live in the US. Never heard of it. Sometimes I do feel left out though.

    It’s sad.

Oh well! I cheer up fast.

Cheer, cheer–ahhh too bad for you–vaudeville was great fun. It was Entertainment prior to moving pictures and televisions. Ever see a Charlie Chaplin flick?
