Water-scapes at the Rock Inn, Kearney MO

Okay here’s another example of absolutely shameless self promotion. If you’re adventuring into the lands of Jesse James and the Watkins Mill Museum and the great lake nearby then you might want to stock up on chow at the Fourth Street Deli which is part of the Rock Inn enterprise in Kearney, MO.  The Deli offers a great selection of meats and cheeses–and ice cream bars (oh yeah, vice time)–for a picnic at the lake.  Oh and since it’s an “inn” there are rooms to rent in the bed & breakfast fashion.  Actually you really could just hang at the inn for breakfast, lunch and dinner because, yeah,  you guessed it, there is something called the Rock Inn Cafe.  Beware the desserts–yeah–um–way too many yummies for anyone’s tummy.   While my favorite food combination of sauteed mashed potato pierogies, Krakus ham, sweet gerkins, and chocolate ice cream is NOT part of their menu–and more’s the pity for me–(yes, in the past I have yapped about this food vice of mine)–they do offer a much more midwestern flavored menu for their all you can eat buffet, homestyle pies and cakes and…yeahhhhhhh you better swim at the lake and hike all over Jesse James’s place.

Here comes the shameless self promotion part of this blog feature.  In an effort to visually cool off and refresh the folks the Cafe feeds,  my photographic water-scapes are now chilling on the Rock Cafe’s walls.  Yes, you can enjoy the cool green grassy waters of the Agate Fossil Bed in Nebraska; Limantour Beach at Point Reyes, California; Line Creek, MO; and Rush Creek, MO.

So if you’re venturing into the nearby haunts of the James’ Boys or the Mill or seeking some water fun at the lake stop at the Inn and take a gander at the prepared and raw foods offered by its very friendly owners, the Rock Family, and their stomach stuffing staff.

Rock in to the Rock Inn at –>   http://www.kearneyrockinn.com/index.php

–oh the inn’s site has links to the Mill, James, lakes and other area ‘attractions’….even Worlds of Fun–if riding fast rollercoasters is part of your  head game.

ps.  10 reasons why Krakus ham should be one of  your food vices too!

Even the Artswebshow Chef could indulge…..hmmm.  T
