Smokin’ HOT Jazz in HOT KC!

Oh yeah, folks, it’s HOT as in 100 and rising fast with the heat index in the broiler that is Kansas City, MO. Only thing keeping pace with the solar heating element is the JAZZ at www.kkfi.org.  Oh yeah, this is Tuesday so sax-man Gerald Dunn is The Jazz Disciple from 1 to 3 pm. Only thing smoother than his Jazz is his voice—oh enjoy, Ladies, enjoy!  If Dunn doesn’t do it for you then catch bassist Jeff Harshbarger on Wednesday’s Jazz Afternoon. Let him stroke your strings for an afternoon. Tune in on Thursday for K.C.’s spins from 39th & Main in KC as he mixes his own blend of KC JAZZing. The weekday Jazz closes with the Jazz Geek, pianist Roger Wilder who prefers to keep it instrumental and cool with Parker, Davis, & Coltrane. When the week moves around to moaning Monday it’s drummer Sam, the Jazz Insider moving the Jazz grooves.

Now afternoons are not the only times you’ll discover Jazz on KKFI’s radio waves. It has a habit of slipping into many of KKFI’s volunteer dj’s programs. But from 1 – 3 pm, Monday through Friday Jazz is THE Hottest ticket.

Play lists are posted online for each Jazz-man’s choices of steaming delights. Pick whatever trips your Jazz-trap!

Enjoy!   KKFI streaming online http://www.kkfi.org

Great video, Eva! Listen to jazz programs on NPR, here, and enjoy them very much!

Hi Leslie. So you are a Jazz fan too! LOL. Grins. There are the times when the only music that will ‘do’ is Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue. Oh yeah.
Glad you enjoyed the video/music. I liked the combination of Davis & Coltrane and the footage. Thanks for listening.

Oh, now I am jealous that not only do you get the heat, but that it is matched with the cool of Jazz every afternoon!
How I miss summer….not that it brings a great deal of jazz to our shores or airwaves, for that, I think the states would be great….

OH RubyTwoShoes–this heat you want? This heat you can HAVE!!! Seriously it is possible to ‘cook’ outside in the sun. Can’t ship the heat your way, certainly would if I could. BUT I can share the JAZZ—-just surf to http://www.kkfi.org in order hear it streaming online while you blog to your heart’s content. Love those shoes..
