If you’re looking for Christmas jingle music, you’re definitely in the wrong blogcasa. But if you’d like to mellow out for a few minutes I might have something to soothe your delicate eardrums. Here are some tunes for and from the north–as in north of the USA/Canadian border. Yep, they sure do make music up there in the wilds of Canada. Claude McKenzie and Florent Vollant are Innu who have performed together and separately since 1984. As far as I know they have recorded only one song in English and that is Willie Dunn’s “Son of the Sun.” If anyone knows differently then please pony up a post with tracks to the tune. Thanks to LeongBobby for uploading Kashtin’s rendition to Youtube since my copy is currently out of reach. This duo is easy on the ears and spirit. Enjoy.
Sample Kashtin, your ears will thank you.
