Purpose? Who has one? Where do we find them?

A few days ago I caught  a rumor via Bearspawprint that there’s a music theme of Purpose on the docket.  Purpose has many faces and takes many forms. It’s not always easy to discern when you’re searching for one.  I’ve found it surprisingly challenging to reference music thematically concerned with ‘purpose’ that had meaning for moi.  Perhaps something is a tad askew in my braincase  these days? Perhaps the problem has been with my sense of purpose? Maybe I’m just out of the swing of blogging? Maybe my purposes have all gone haywire one time too many?

At any rate, here’s my purpose music and film menu for the moment.

*

I Aim to Misbehave ~ Serenity ~ Soundtrack, instrumental.

*

Movie scene to go with music. I Aim to Misbehave – Serenity film speech scene–Mal plans to rock the big bad boys’ boats big time.

*

The Saint Patrick’s Battalion ~ Battalion de San Patricio ~ Damn, just when you think you’ve got a handle on American history the Irish come along and kick the slops bucket.

*

Battlestar Galactica – Adama’s speech for the mission to rescue Hera Agathon–Helo and Sharon’s Human/Cylon child.

150,000 years ago there was a child born out in space and she changed everything by simply be-ing.

*

Some doctors practice medicine primarily for profit, especially in the American Medical system, and others have different purposes in their minds.  Could a real House thrive and survive? I wonder.

Teardrop – Massive Attack ~ House MD Theme

Love, love is a verb
Love is a doing word
Fearless on my breath
Gentle impulsion
Shakes me makes me lighter
Fearless on my breath

Teardrop on the fire
Fearless on my breath

Nine night of matter
Black flowers blossom
Fearless on my breath
Black flowers blossom
Fearless on my breath

Teardrop on the fire
Fearless on my breath

Water is my eye
Most faithful mirror
Fearless on my breath
Teardrop on the fire of a confession
Fearless on my breath
Most faithful mirror
Fearless on my breath

Teardrop on the fire
Fearless on my breath

You’re stumbling in the dark
You’re stumbling in the dark

The Snow Walker — Pilot’s plane takes a nosedive in the Alaskan wilderness and he is rewired for survival purposes by a young Inuit woman.  If you haven’t seen this film, you’re missing out on a great story.

I’m not sure how well any of this is working, but this purpose has been served as is.

Oh so dada is a Mal fan–well, dada earns a few points on the respect scale for that endorsement, Dennis. Yeah, some of us behave by misbehaving–don’t sweat it. Just do what comes naturally like any Vizsla. Tell dada I said you deserve extra treats for visiting. 🙂

Hi Eva, this is Maddie. Thanks for sharing your recommendation on Snow Walker, I’m always up for a good movie.
Batallón de San Patricio, yes the truth must not be forgotten. Another purposefully deleted piece of history from American textbooks by TPTB. Excellent song & videos! Enjoy u’r weekend.

    • October 12, 2014 at 3:35 pm

Yeah, it’s about time TPTB were deleted from the thought control movement. Hi, Maddie.

It’s great to see the blog lights on again, Eva. I now purpose to watch Snow Walker. Massive Attack always rocks. 🙂

    • September 27, 2014 at 2:55 pm

LOL, hey Johnny. I look forward to reading your thoughts on Snow Walker. Really. I consider it a ‘quietly powerful’ kind of film. It packs a punch of a certain rare sort.
      Massive Attack–oh yeah. 🙂

I know about losing the blogging drive! Sometimes I have sufficient freelance on my desk that it just about drives ALL creativity out of me other than the projects I’m working on, (but I can’t complain if I’m paying’ the bills.) Still …
Purpose, eh? How sad is this – what came to mind was “Working on the Chain Gang!” Ay yi yi. OK — I’ll ponder … 🙂

    • September 27, 2014 at 2:59 pm

Chain Gang—ah ha—yeah, well, aren’t those links you selected? Or am I wrong? My issue is with the fact that we need sleep and there are only 24 hours in any given day. Plus, I tend to get methodical and snail paced.
Yes, you are paying those bills–excellent.
Hi, thanks for blogging along. 🙂

      • September 28, 2014 at 11:04 pm

Chain gang – links – an unintended pun perhaps? But to answer your question, of course, and my own unconscious poking me in the ribs, to boot!
There are always soooo many things I want to be doing, and like you said, only 24 hours in a day. It seems to me as I get older that those 24 hours are getting shorter, too. Today was so gorgeous here, and so nice to see the farmstands loading up with pumpkins and gourds and apples. Makes the brain happy for simple things, eh?
De rien – you, too. 🙂

I really do enjoy your perspective on things. You are so full of life and flavor. You liven things up and make things dazzling. I’m so glad you did a theme this week, Eva. I miss dancing with you. The short period I had with you was enough to miss you. 🙂

    • September 26, 2014 at 1:53 pm

Hey there lovely Lisa! Let’s rhumba. 🙂 I’m going to try to jump on the theme bandwagon from time to time until I get my blog groove back. I’ll see you soon, Missy. 🙂

So glad to see you are back! I have had the se dilemma as you about this week’s theme bit unlike you I chickened out.
You and johnny bear and Lisa and Maddie have pit me to shame. I love the Adarma speech I loved loved BSG watched the films and whole series. Also Teardrop from Massive Attack was a masterstroke. 🙂 welcome back xxx

    • September 26, 2014 at 1:51 pm

Hey there willowdot21! Great to see you too. No shame at all. You rock when you’re inspired. You will be inspired again for sure! I’m looking forward to it. So you’re a BSG fan too! Huzzah! I love the story line involving Helo and Sharon more than all the other couples on BSG. What a great show all around though.
Are you a House MD fan too?
I bet you are. Come on, what’s not to love? 🙂

  12. September 26, 2014 at 10:21 am

I aim to misbehave, too. Here I goooooo………

But first I shall say thank you. Maddie thought up the theme PURPOSE. Johnny thought up: uh uh, oh yes : sorry about that: COMPETITON. Lisa is next after Johnny. Would you like to slip a theme in? Is something lurking in the back of your mind, or right at the front?
Those Teardrop lyrics lovely . Snow Walker is an excellent movie. She tricked Death to save her sister. 🙂 I like John Riley 🙂
It’s good to see you ,Eva.

PS Do you get political adds on almost every clip? I’m getting the same ones on everybody’s blog. Even blogs in other countries.ones. For Florida politicians. Aaaargh!!

OK….. NOW I’m gonna go misbehave.

    • September 26, 2014 at 1:44 pm

Odd–I’m not seeing any political ads. Hmm. “They” know better? LOL. Hi Bear. Right now I’m good just flitting about here on the edge. I don’t need to slip into the theme picking.
I thought you might have seen Snow Walker–damn I love how that film opens and closes with the end scenes at the beginning and the technically beginning at the end.
As for Mr. John Riley–I harbor a fantasy that he managed to slip away deep into Mexico for a fine romance with the help of some appreciative Mexicans.
One is entitled to dream, isn’t one?
      🙂

      Mishbehave–yep yep. 🙂

      • September 26, 2014 at 1:51 pm

I even have an old blog post on Snow Walker. 🙂

Maybe he is part of Frida Khalo’s lineage 😀

Yep yep … Remember those Sesame Street characters? uh huh, uh huh, yep yep

      • September 26, 2014 at 1:59 pm

Oh feel free to share a link to your blog post on Snow Walker.

Oh now wouldn’t THAT be ‘romantic’? I like that notion, Bear.

Get it on, yep, yep, on the way to Sesame Street, cool baby. 🙂
