All Things TV– with Music theme– Hey, there’s people in that box! How’d they get there? What’s that sound?

Music selections for “All Things TV” could go in so many directions that I’m dying to find out what Bear, Willow and Johnny have posted. I’m NOT looking until I get this post into my blogcasa.  Television is a medium with a great deal of untapped POSITIVE potential.  There’s been some over the years, depending on your view of reality–scratches head about those shows I don’t know why money and time is wasted upon when there’s some much great stuff PBS could be overflowing with–but for the most part, it’s hardly scratched the surface of what it could do. I think that’s why the internet is so vital a resource–as long as it’s UNcontrolled and Uncensored. Hmm. Yeah. We’ve got some problems on that score, Houston. Yes, this creates problem because you get the good with the bad–ooo sounds just like the choices in certain garden of Earthly delights…hmm. Okay, trying to keep an open mind is often a troublesome venture indeed. From personal experience I do know that the strange box can inform, educate and inspire the imagination by bringing new things into a curious mind without the means to travel at will. What you get depends on what channel you select–just like where you go in cyberspace depends on where your fingertips take you via the symbols on your keyboard.

I’m hoping that between the four of us participating in this theme spree that all our views are expanded.

As I recently shared with Johnny–just go with the flow–I’m sharing what flowed my way. Please feel free to share your take on Musical Selections for “All Things TV”.  Careful –ALL–covers a lot of territory. LOL.

To start off here’s some warm fuzzies for real via television–on-screen love story goes live. I could have selected a totally musical version, but I thought this works better for people who otherwise would have no clue what’s going here or why I’ve posted it.

“At This Moment” –I think the vocalist is Billy Vera.

Yeah, it was odd, and very nice, watching Michael J. Fox fall hard for Tracy Polland on a television show called “Family Ties.” Considering his return to television as a TV personally with Parkinson’s this is a tip of the hat to him –and a media that usually wants everyone on-screen Picture Perfect. Maybe it’s finally growing up? Hmm. Yeah, that might be stretching it way too much for American television.

First there was MASH taking on the Korean War experience and then there was China Beach.   I think my son learned a few things about the world at large a little too soon watching this program.  It might have contributed to his ongoing perspective: “It’s all pointless.”  Not to mention his attitude towards the recruiters who kept calling on the phone via the No Child Left Behind agenda that provides student info to the armed forces.  Everyone was always polite –until he told them he didn’t want to travel around the world killing people and trying not to get his head blown off. Yeah, that sort of put a damper on their ‘get money for your higher education goals’ carrot.

One reason Why the Smothers Brothers Show was cancelled by CBS ~~  Or  ~~~ Comedy  gets the axe for finally going too far to be tolerated.  Pete Seeger sang and was recorded and was cut from the show already in deep shit for its political satire. I’ve included the Smothers Brothers’ interview for some contextual background information.

Well the lyrics pretty much say it all. I selected this particular video partly for the incredible energy of the performance, the views, the audience and the discussion after the song.  Also, the lyrics are uncensored.
Green Day “American Idiot”
Don’t want to be an American idiot.
Don’t want a nation under the new media.
And can you hear the sound of hysteria?
The subliminal mind-fuck America.Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alien nation.
Where everything isn’t meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We’re not the ones who’re meant to follow.
For that’s enough to argue.

Well maybe I’m the faggot America.
I’m not a part of a redneck agenda.
Now everybody do the propaganda.
And sing along to the age of paranoia.

Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alien nation.
Where everything isn’t meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We’re not the ones who’re meant to follow.
For that’s enough to argue.

Don’t want to be an American idiot.
One nation controlled by the media.
Information Age of hysteria.
It’s calling out to idiot America.

Oostvaardersplassen nature reserve, new film

Do you love the kitties? Hmm? Well, even if you’re a confirmed dog lover, you have nothing to lose by spending time with Dear Kitty, Some Blog–for some litter – ‘On animals, peace and war, science, social justice, women’s issues, arts and much more’ –more as in very cool film about a nature reserve in the Netherlands! First time I’ve ever seen a fox try to eat a camera! If your cat curiosity is aroused then you need to sniff Dear Kitty’s fresh litter at will.

Dear Kitty. Some blog

This video, made during the making of the film De Nieuwe Wildernis, shows a red fox.

On 28 September 2013, to the new Dutch nature documentary film De Nieuwe Wildernis (The new wilderness). This movie had its premiere this week.

Its subject is Oostvaardersplassen nature reserve in Flevoland province in the Netherlands; from early spring to summer to autumn to winter to new spring.

The big cinema was sold out. Many children. They were much less noisy than one might expect at a film lasting for over ninety minutes.

This video is the trailer for Belgium of the film.

The film started with a line from Dutch poetess Henriette Roland Holst, about peace and quiet in nature.

Then, life under water in early spring. An eel swimming. Water fleas. Tadpoles.

Then, birds. A great crested grebe mating dance. A marsh harrier couple. A white-tailed eagle

Fox finds “fun” facts with McCain. Amanpour seeks gold. Sharif Kouddous = Priceless

Someone explain to me how ABC’s Christiane Amanpour gets access to the Egyptian presidential Palace when other journalists are threatened with beheading, beaten, arrested and robbed of their equipment. Why did Mubarak talk with Amanpour while Egypt’s state television was claiming that foreign journalists  were instigating the protests? How does ABC get access to Mubarak in the midst of all this?

In extreme contrast to Amanpour, who cautiously retreated from the streets after a confrontation with a group of  pro-Mubarak men, Democracy Now!’s Sharif Kouddous takes viewers from the barricades, to the rooftops to the makeshift hospitals in Tahrir.  Amanpour gives us a glimpse of the golden furniture of the Palace while Kouddous brings us the voices of the people in the square.

And Fox News Scores BIG with John McCain’s revealing “virus” comment. What other statement could possibly provide insight into what’s got the political wheels whirling at insane speeds behind the public masks of Obama, H. Clinton and every other American politician. Are there some things  happening that are not in their control, not part of their manipulative agendas?

If the governments of the world actually operated in the best interests of all people instead of engaging in dangerous games of elites pursuing power, domination and exploitation wouldn’t the world be a very different place?

Democracy Now! will offer two hours of coverage on Saturday with Sharif Kouddous at www.democracynow.org.  You can catch it online.

Now brace yourself for John McCain’s truth telling. Is this the voice of America?

Dictators for everyone???? Poverty for the majority? War games for the military industrial complex for eternity? What is the current agenda of G 20 totalitarianism?

OOPS! What the *&^! ??? OOPS Our Way

OOPS! Another example of inaccurate information from the news source famous for misinformation, misrepresentation and–now-mis-location. OOPS! Who needs social studies classes? Where in the world IS Egypt???? Not “here”…..OOOPS!

Where in the world?

These are serious times, deadly serious times and yet–yet there are moments of sublime humor. Though the degree of sublimity depends upon your own individual subjective  sense of humor. Btw, if anyone is interested, there is a little town called Sublimity in Oregon. Really, I’ve been there. Sublimity has a beautiful park of OLD trees, a post office built in 1890 and a few cemeteries for your touring pleasure. Now back to the main menu:

Oh lordy, lordy, lordy! I first heard about Fox’s inability to find Egypt via KKFI radio–but I thought they were being sarcastic and facetious–until a friend shared the image. I just could not keep it all to myself. Have to share it with everyone else who missed this priceless piece of world news coverage.

Where’s a geography teacher when Fox News desperately needs one? Mapquest anyone? Got a 3D globe? Rand McNally wall map? Hey, they only report “news”, right? What do we expect from journalists? Who needs geographic accuracy? Might be useful for a “smart bomb” programmer—or not. Just send out the drones.

Oh hey, ABC is on the ball–or the “CAN” as in this case.  Yes, if you haven’t had the dubious pleasure of tear gas in person, this is its package. complete with Made in the USA.   Click the can to read more news coverage–American style. OOPS! WE make this stuff? Export it? Our economy needs some  serious greening from the looks of things.

ABC: Made in America

OOPS! And a major OOOOUCH! to everyone enjoying unemployment in America.  What can one billion American dollars buy? Depends on where you’re spending it. It could house a few people made homeless by the ongoing foreclosure crisis.  It  would buy A LOT of propane for folks on the Cheyenne River Reservation in South Dakota –which, btw,  contains  THE POOREST county in the USA–Ziebach. What would you spend a BILLION dollars on? According to Democracy Now! the American government has been “donating” at least a billion dollars a year to the Egyptian government for the last 30 years.  Click on the bundled buckeroos to learn more about this artwork–and view other visual aids.  You can visit Democracy Now! for more about what H. Clinton did and didn’t say about Egypt at http://www.democracynow.org/2011/1/27/egyptian_american_activist_hillary_clinton_forget
