Whatever goes up must go down and whatever goes down must go up. Right? Huh? Yeah, for the sake of stairs and ladders which usually go in both directions, unless they’re the escalator steps in the Hungarian film Kontroll –no one knows where those escalators really go.

Anyway, fire burns up and down. If you’re a good fire-keeper then some down time embers go up again with some well blown O2. Are things getting out of hand here? Noooooo way. Or maybe by the end of the post things might be a tad untidy?
Blame this all on the chocolate-coconut-pecan taco. If you don’t know what that is hit the search box for another kind of breakfast special.
Oh I should never have posted that cartoon… Okay, on with the shows.

Theme from Twin Peaks ~ Fire Walk with Me ~music by Angelo Badalamenti
Twin Peaks–a story about an investigation into murder, sex and mayhem. Oh, and let’s not forget the cherry pie.
Intermission / an unresistable aside
Speaking of Cherry Pie ~ Warrant
adamlep ‘s tribute to Agent Cooper and Audrey.
Ahhhhh heavy sigh.
Hey, pies are baked in ovens which have heat, which technically speaking equals FIRE.
Besides, Cooper and Audrey have plenty of FIRE all by themselves.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame Hellfire theme. Oh time for some sin that leads to Fire.

Hmm, why? Reason one: Black and white film. Reason two: Leather pants. Reason three: Let’s vote, is Jim high as a kite or not? Reason four: For the sheer hell of it. Reason five: I’ve got a thing for the keyboard man. Yeah, right. Reason six: People in the audience get to scream~squeal into the mic. Reason seven: Girl follows Jim under the stage. Yes, under the stage.
The Doors ~ Light My Fire, live 1968

Electric Six is here because, well damn it, I’ve had to listen to this song by Electric Six a lot by default. By default, I mean that it’s a favorite of someone in my abode and hence is played OFTEN. What’s the point of demanding and support freedom of thought and expression if you don’t follow through in your own home domain? Not much in my opinion. After years of exposure to the song and the video it was no surprise to moi that Danger! High Voltage came immediately to my brain-pan when I read that Bear’s theme choice was Fire. Honestly, “Fire in the disco!” was instantly on the scene. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but it has been listened to and viewed with many cups of tea at hand for perhaps its number one fan with a mouse at their disposal. I have no idea what Grandmother Fire would make of this video beyond the fact that, yeah it is base human nature to “keep starting fires.”
Note: “Play” at your risk, potentially offensive language and image contents for some sensibilities. Or maybe not?

Next, so much for The Good Old Days– Not so much, methinks.
Note: Very Strong offensive language content. What do you expect from a song about going to hell? Polite conversation? Not here. Not now. Not today, anyway.
Nick Cave ~ Fire Down Below, from Rogues Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs, and Chanteys, ANTI- 2006.
Liner notes by Anti-: http://www.anti.com/catalog/view/67/P…
A popular pumping chantey, this was actually the last chantey sung aboard a commercial British square-rigger, by Stan Hugill in 1929, as the barque Garthpool was pumped out for the last time. There are a number of versions, and in some the “fire down below” is more explicitly a reference to venereal disease.

Hmm, no smoke and ashes here. Does that mean something is still burning? I guess so.

These were fun. I used to love Twin Peaks and Angelo Badalamenti’s music. Kyle MacLachlan looked so YOUNG!
Now what would this post be without James Taylor – Fire and Rain? J.

Hello still a dreamer. ) Thank you for bring Fire and Rain to this blogcasa music table. Most appreciate it.
Oh isn’t a ‘young’ Kyle MacLachlan just about the hottest guy ever? Hell yes!

High-er . When I was very very very young I found that boiling hot water, assumed to be for tea, put out certain types of fires just by being visibly at hand. Tea puts out other fires just as quickly as H2O without tea. In the olden days when I was young, but not as young, I met some students who would get stoned, hold hands to make a circuit and the first and last person would stick a finger in a light socket….plugged in and turned on. NOT ME !! But they did it as a regular zap fest. These heads also electro-stimulated themselves and each other in other ways that I did not observe … Those are the associations I had when I watched the video de su hijo. His favorite, you say? Hmm.

One of his favorites, he has many but that one–well, it comes on a lot. LOL.
As for that circuit breaker group–ahhh not connected to some of my cousins are they? Sounds like their sort of ‘jump start’ fun action long ago. Minus the stoned. No need for drugs for them–just electricity plain and simple. And other things ….hmm. Best to say less perhaps. Wouldn’t want anyone to get the wrong ideas about family……hmmm.

Hmm, did Tessla try to electrocute his brother with a garage door opener to make a point about bad behavior?

Reign of Fire… mad at Gravity, new to me 🙂 Fire Walk with Me is actually more what usually expect to see in your choices … reminds me of some special nights in the olden days. Hot pie ..ha! another overlap. Bruce — is so young!! Of course, the Doors … Is the fire in the Taco Bell? in fire in the disco?? Which someone in you abode?? Is the tea at hand for putting out fires? hahaha Sea chanty? To quote some one out of contest: “hmmmm” and more “hmmmm” 🙂 🙂

So Bear, is The Jim high or not? Hmm?
Ahhh si senora, mi hijo. Tea is generally for drinking here. Except when spilled.
Nick Cave songs can be rather dotted with foul language–and yet, it’s generally appropriate to the context of the song. I just kept coming back to that find and couldn’t let go of it. Thanks for listening, Bear.

Glorious! I shall return in a short while, when I can linger and appreciate the warmth glowing here. Hey!!!! This one is too! But the The “Higher Realms” was replaced by the Lower, rather than both????? Maybe they’ll both be up later ? Both are GOOD. I did get to read all of the text and listen to Fire In The Hole before it was all replaced 🙂 Back in a bit …. Ciao XXXX

Hi Bear, I have NO clue where my first Ascent went! I have found most of the songs but one animate piece which is eluding me on the tubes of you. LOL. I did not intend to ‘replace’–I was posting both–one before the other and something went haywire! LOL.

Is it in the trash file? I hope so, ’cause then your commentary will be intact. …. It’s all too good and too much work went into to it to loose it … I had already saved the link, if it helps : https://47whitebuffalo.wordpress.com/2013/11/22/fire-a-musical-ascent-an-exploration-of-the-higher-realms-sort-of-sure-something-here-could-offend-someone-somewhere-but-hears-hoping-not/

Another direction I wanted to pursue was Purple Fire for the Heart Chakra but I didn’t find anything that wasn’t sappy/silly . Why is so much like that?

Thank you for the link–brought back my title completely!
As for the sappy–I agree that’s a problem. I also wonder about the why of that ‘lack’.
